Install Magento

Before using Extended Success Page extension you should have installed your copy of Magento e-commerce software.

If you have already installed Magento, you can skip this section and continue to Extension installation.

If you have not yet installed Magento, follow these steps:

  1. First, check if your server is compatible with Magento. Most of them are but just to be sure you can check the instructions on Magento offical website
  2. Next, check if your server meets Magento’s system requirements
  3. Download a copy of your Magento Community Edition and install it using the instructions here.
  4. If you installed Magento successfully, you can continue to the Extension installation.

Extension installation

Before installing an extension, please do a full backup of your system (files and database). You should always first test the extension and any changes on your development server.

To install Extended Success Page extension you simply have to copy all of the files from the Source directory to your Magento root directory. This is usually a public_html directory under your domain. Files can be transferred via FTP client or web interface.

All you have to do now, is clear the cache. To do this, go to System -> Cache Management and click on Flush Magento Cache button. You can achieve the same, by deleting the /var/cache/ folder from your server. Log out from the administration panel and log back in so that users permissions can be refreshed and you can access the extension configuration.

If you are using other then Magento responsive RWD theme you have to copy files from app/design/frontend/rwd folder to app/design/frontend/your_theme_name folder and files from skin/frontend/rwd to skin/frontend/your_theme_name

Basics

You will find the Extended Success Page extension settings under System -> Configuration -> MageMill -> Extended Success Page.

Static blocks are editable via CMS -> Static Blocks. There, you can add, edit or disable/enable every single content block in the store.

In the next parts, we will look at detailed instructions for each configuration option.

General Settings

A straight forward option to enable/disable the extension.

Enabled If set to Yes, the Magento Extended Success Page extension will be enabled.

Section Settings

You have settings for Section 1, Section 2 and Section 3. You can enable/disable each section and select which static block to display there.

Enable Section If set to Yes, this section will be enabled.
Static block to display Choose the static block to display in this section.

Marketing Settings

Here you can paste your Facebook (or other social network) code to display desired widget.

If you would like you can use the following sample content to get the starting point. These is the content of the static blocks as you can see in the demo.

Success Page - Above Everything

  • Block title: Success Page - Above Everything
  • Identifier: successpage_section_1
  • Store view: All store views (or a specific one)
  • Status: Enabled
  • Content:

You can add static blocks in CMS -> Static Blocks. Click on Add New Block button in the upper right corner.

Copy paste the content in the fields and click on Save button.
